You've posted questions clearly aimed at the CFS developers here on your blog. Instead of asking the blogosphere, why not post those questions about CFS to the lkml, to the developer directly ? And your questions about the content of the blog article, why not post those to the article itself ?

I suspect you'd probably get better answers to both sets of questions. :)John Allspawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04293806915830316610noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6977755959349847093.post-26196477961425769312007-06-14T18:27:00.000-07:002007-06-14T18:27:00.000-07:00Hmm ... Even if it IS our there, it's damn difficult to find. And now that I have found it (or it found me, in this case), it looks like their IQ is LOWER than ours!

I don't see how the comment about "psychic" schedulers follows from anything I said.Neil Guntherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11441377418482735926noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6977755959349847093.post-37760565173365209752007-06-13T17:59:00.000-07:002007-06-13T17:59:00.000-07:00The spec is:http://people.redhat.com/mingo/cfs-sch...The spec is:

http://people.redhat.com/mingo/cfs-scheduler/sched-design-CFS.txt

Of course no scheduler will ever please everyone. Schedulers are not psychic; they don't know you want max thruput for
job A and min latency for job B unless
you tell them.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05042350705521129454noreply@blogger.com
